MAAREESAN is a powerful Tamillanguage thriller drama featuring Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu in lead roles. The story revolves around a cunning thief Dayalan (played by Fahadh Faasil), whose life is all about cheating and stealing.
At the beginning, police catch Dayalan for theft but release him with a warning. However, unable to control his habits, he steals a bike and a mobile phone right after. Soon, he sets his eyes on a house, planning a burglary.
Inside the house, he meets an old man Velayudham (Vadivelu), whose hand is chained. Velayudham reveals that his son tied him up because he suffers from memory loss. He offers Dayalan money if he helps him escape. Tempted by greed, Dayalan agrees.
But soon, while withdrawing money from an ATM, Dayalan discovers Velayudham’s bank account has ₹25 lakh. From that moment, he chases the old man for the money, and the story takes a thrilling ride.
