Pavagadh Ropeway Accident:A tragic incident occurred on Saturday at Pavagadh hill temple in Gujarat, where a cargo ropeway wire snapped, leading to the death of six people. The deceased included two liftmen, two workers, and two others.
How Did the Pavagadh Ropeway Accident Happen?
Preliminary reports confirm that the accident took place around 3:30 PM when the cargo rope wire suddenly broke. The ropeway cabin came crashing down, leaving six people dead on the spot.

Panchmahal Collector officially confirmed the deaths and stated that a detailed investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the rope break.
Rescue and Immediate Action
Soon after the accident, local police and fire brigade teams rushed to the site to carry out rescue operations. Authorities have assured that strict measures will be taken after the investigation report is completed.
About Pavagadh Temple
The Pavagadh temple is one of Gujarat’s most sacred pilgrimage sites, dedicated to Goddess Kali. It is situated at an altitude of about 800 metres, with devotees either climbing 2,000 steps or using a ropeway to reach the temple.
Officials revealed that the public ropeway had been shut since morning due to bad weather, but the cargo ropeway was still operating, which led to the unfortunate incident.

Pavagadh hill rises from Champaner in three stages and its plateau lies at an altitude of 1,471 feet. The temple attracts nearly 2.5 million devotees every year, making it a heavily visited religious spot in Gujarat.
